The Joy in Simplicity - This evenings meditation and discourse on Patreon

Dear friends,

I'd like to share with you a live broadcast happening tonight at 7.30pm on my Patreon community. This is a free talk and guided meditation available to all members. If you're not a member yet, it is free to join without any commitment.

The talk will be on how to experience "The Joy in Simplicity", as I feel it is a relevant topic at the moment, looking at how simplifying our lives may be the resolution to a large part of the stresses and strains of daily life.

Bramhaviharas - Live Online Weekend Retreat
Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th December 2025

This is a reminder to all those that have received an invite to join this online retreat next weekend. It is available to any who have been on an in-person retreat with us in the past, and/or followed one of our year long online courses, such as "Love as the Path" and "The Art of Concentration".

Day 1 - Sat 6th December, 9.30am - 5.00pm (UK time)
Day 2 - Sun 7th December, 9.30am - 5.00pm (UK time)

The Brahmaviharas, also known as the Four Immeasurable States, are Love, Compassion, Appreciative Joy and Equanimity.

As the authentic expression of enlightened mind, these practices lie right at the heart of the Buddha's Dharma and indeed all spiritual paths. Over the course of the weekend I will explain the essence of all 4 practices and give guided instructions on how to do the meditations upon them.

Not only are these meditations a fundamental part of the Buddha's gradual path, they are the core of the whole ethos of Bodhicitta ( compassionate enlightened intent) which is the very starting point of the Mahayana and Tibetan Vajrayana paths.

I will explain the role of each one in context to both approaches to the path as well as explore how they form the pivot for the notion of taking 'Love as the Path,' according to the system that I teach personally. I am sure this will be a very special weekend and one that all of you who are seriously committed to your own practice will not want to miss.

Please check your email for the invite which would have been sent to you last week, or get in touch if you haven't received it yet.

with love,

Burgs

Dear friends, I thought would write personally to you this month with a brief update on what's been happening and what's coming up at AoM. We have just finished our first Thangka Drawing and Devotional practices retreat in Portugal. It was a really special and unique event and something I will definitely be repeating next year as it gave me an opportunity to share teachings that I don't often have the chance to share. The combination of devotion, art and meditation proved to be a profoundly...
