Support for Myanmar - Earthquake appeal

Dear friends,

As many of you know, Burgs and the Art of Meditation have continuously supported orphanages and monasteries in Myanmar over the years. From one of our first charity events, the TriMettathon in 2011 to the more recent support during the pandemic, Myanmar has always had a special place in our hearts when it came to supporting those in need.

We have continuously sought the less known and least-supported orphanages, especially ones for girls, as well as monasteries for both monks and nuns dedicated to practising Dharma.

As many of you know, the epicentre of this major earthquake occurred in Mandalay. Many of these orphanages and monasteries that we have supported are in a town called Pyin Oo Lwin, just north of Mandalay.

The effect of the earthquake has been devastating and the people need as much help and support as they can get.

If you feel inclined to support, Sayalay Dipankara, whose is located in this same town, will be coordinating efforts on the ground, and will provide the food, shelter and aid to those who need it. All donations will go directly to those effected.

Very little information is available on how things are in Myanmar right now, but from what we hear, any help would be received with deep gratitude.

You can pledge your support by using the link below -

Thank you all so much.

Dear friends. I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to you to announce the opening of 'Brahma Vihara', our beautiful and magical new retreat centre in North Portugal. It has been my aspiration for many years to one day be able to offer a dedicated "Seat of Dharma" that could become the centrepoint of the work we do at AoM to give people an authentic opportunity to immerse themselves in Dharma practice and study. Finally we have found somewhere that feels like home. Surrounded by...

Dear friends, We are pleased to announce a retreat for the more experienced students who wish to receive clarification and guidance from Burgs regarding their meditation. The retreat will be a synthesis of the Art of Concentration and the Advanced Stages of Liberating Insight, giving an opportunity for those that weren't able to join the winter long retreat a chance to practice with these teachings. The retreat will run with a similar format as last year, where we will predominantly be...
